I'm Richard. Third Polar Arch is my studio in Boston, and the short version is that I like building small, genuinely useful things and putting them out into the world. Most of my work lives at the intersection of software and live events. I run production management and touring across a hundred-plus shows a year, do lighting and video work in Boston venues, and run a Meta ads agency for nightlife and live events. So when a venue, promoter or small operator tells me what's broken, I've usually been standing in the room where it broke. Things I've built with Lovable I love: - Charlie (mbta.cold.fyi) - live subway tracker showing real-time train positions across every MBTA line - Dockwatch (dockwatch.cold.fyi) - real-time Bluebikes station tracker: bikes, docks, ebikes, walking time - Alarm Club (alarmclub.boston) - a civic discovery game built on Boston's 1852 municipal fire alarm telegraph network - GEL (gel.cold.fyi) - an interactive color-mixing reference for lighting technicians - Darkroom (darkroom.ad) - my agency's site, plus a free course platform at school.darkroom.ad They're all live right now. Go click them. That's the portfolio - I'd rather show you working software than a case study deck. What I'm good at: getting from "here's the problem" to "here's the working thing" fast. Real-time data tools, internal and operations software, dashboards, automations, and websites that actually convert rather than just look nice. I do the boring parts properly too - custom domains, auth, databases, analytics that mean something. Who I like working with: venues, promoters, festivals, artists and independent operators, plus Boston small businesses who've been quoted absurd numbers for a website they don't need. Small budgets are fine. Weird projects are better. If you've got something nobody else wants to build because it's too specific or too strange, that's my favorite kind of email to get.
